out on the bank for 4 hours this morning, trolled up a 30lb halibut and one spring. I've heard its been decent right on top of the bank, but pretty slow for springs today.

Both on needle fish squirts, nothing on bait.

released a couple of beauty springs today off the bank, both mid-high teens. 130' right off the bottom on needlefish squirts - pretty ugly water though.

We hit a few decent springs in Oakbay yesterday, 21,18,15

usual spot there DarkStar? Have you been marking much bait? I saw the pics, beauty fish.

We hit those ones in the Gap, then went back last night to get into them again

just got a call, some good salmon action on top of the bank - just gotta watch the 100 halibut fisherman anchored up.

The boats were out in full force on the weekend, haven't seen that many boats on the flats for years.
Quite a few nice fish up to 20lbs landed, however seals have become a real problem.

just got in from fishing Oakbay - pulled up around 11:30 fish on right away, a little slot limit wild. About an hour later had a good one on but was farmed out by the guests. 10 minutes later a real screamer, with A LOT of coaching we get it close to the boat. I turn around to get the net and when I look back the fish is gone and the guest is white knuckling the reel .

Purple haze squirts and... cough cough, the screamer was on baitrix strip .


Not many boats out today but looked like the ones that were out there had a shot at a few fish at least.

lots of fish off victoria today, all hatchery and a lot of boats getting limits. Some nice fish for us, low to mid teens and hard fighters!
