tons of bait off birds working off the harbour today - looks really fishy, unfortunately not much to show for it but a few short nips.

good number of hatchery springs in the victoria area the last few days, most seem to be around 12-16lbs, a few smaller ones and a sockey in the mix as well.
I've been getting them in close and on the bank, nice to see some mature fish around.

lots of low to mid teens offshore victoria right now - squirts tight to the bottom will do it - bumped into a really nice sized halibut out there as well but it didn't make it in the boat.

west is best! but only two on today both did not make it into the boat. Some big water out there to with the ebb, I took a couple of waves over the bow.

I was out for just a few hours yesterday in the middle of the ebb, no surprises it was slow. I put the dummy flashers down and went looking for a sockeye, a couple of bites but nothing hooked up. I didn't see any jumpers either but I think that big ebb had them sucked out west of race.
I'm out tomorrow morning for the tide change, I'll most likely be off church/west race, I'll let you guys know what happens.

no sign of sockeye this side of race rocks but 9 springs on, 6 to the boat all around 10-14lbs - not big but they are mature fish and perfect for the bbq.
