I see lots of other boats out there with me. What's going on with the fishing? Thought there was supposed to be a very strong run of Springs this year.

Only had half a dozen springs on the line off the waterfront since June, and one 30 lb hali. How's everyone else doing?!

Heading out to Sooke this weekend. Hopefully things are a little better out there :D

Out in the rain yesterday - started at Albert Head to take advantage of the ebb tide. We had both rods on the bottom at 90 -120 - glow flashers and an Irish Mist needlefish hootchy on one and a Mint Tulip hootchy on the other. Ended up with 2 10 pound springs and lost several other hits. Last Saturday a 24 pound winter spring came in at the Fleming Beach ramp - awesome fish, not a single grey scale on him.

I've heard that the hot spot has been switching from oak bay flats to constance, just depends where the feed is. IMO albert head has never been a producer for me, although some have good luck there.

Great fishing off Oak Bay - limit of springs to 15 pounds last Thursday. Splatter back coho killers work best. The seals were quite civilized, no problems, maybe it's the grey poupon.
