Cheers All,

Should know by the weekend about the weight coating. Sorry folks but had 3 charters this week and that cuts into my day significantly. Should have tomorrow off and will be able to get some work done on this issue.

Sincerely,

Just a thought. I have been purchasing coated balls from RVP. They stand up to the punishment I give them, unlike coated balls from other sources I have tried. I have found his prices to be fair, as well.

I would rather buy my lead from Fishing Guide.

Cheers All,

Thanks Fishassassin: I try and provide superior product, service and price. Sometimes it is acknowledged and sometimes not.

Mi Chica - wonder if you can send me a PM with the price RVP charged you for your last order of weights - with details - as I am curious where my prices are in comparison.

And...both RVP and I have been having our coatings done by the same company so I know what you mean about standing up to punishment. Neither of us provide inferior product and I have some of my weights here that look like they have been through a war but the coating is firmly attached. That can not be said about other coatings. They simply do not stand up to the abuse.

FG, you definitely would know what I mean about standing up to the gaff of bottom bouncing. Like yours my downrigger balls are pitted with barnacles but are still in great shape after a year of use. The coating process that the two of you employ is definitely superior. As for price, I have been trading lead for finished product the last year or so, so I am not sure what current pricing would be.

Cheers All,

I was watching a guy at the dock the other day and his cannon ball weight looked like it had been fired out of a cannon - multiple times. I can honestly say that I have never seen a weight so abused. I inquired how long he had been using the weight, expecting in the neighbourhood of 3 or more years, and the reply of 3 months almost knocked me off the dock. What had initially been a 15 lbs weight could have not been more than 12 or 13 lbs. The rest was worn off from bumping bottom. Now that's a winter spring fisherman - keeping in right on bottom! :D
