im still finding my feet with the whole salmon fishing deal on the inside here, i check this sweet site out everyday and the fever remains!!the reports and pics are closest i get to the salmon around here! could someone tell me where the grande and waterfall and whalebone are located, ive had enough with the reading the sweet stories of these spots and need to get my ass out there and catch some damn fish!! no more getting skunked on the inside, well thats always my plan anyway! thanks and hopefully i'll be on this site next holding up a nice fat chromer cheers!

All those spots are on the outside of Gabriola. Just troll the shoreline in the 120 to 200 foot contour line and you will catch fish eventually. It's tough the first half a dozen years. I'm still learning and I've been hard at it for the last 9 years now but if you spend enough time on the water you will enventually learn the secrets.

Call me and get out on the water with your old bud(s), maybe even get you into a fish or 2. My boat or yours....

Thanks for the tips DR hook! went out behind gabriola tuesday night and boated 3 on a green splatterback and 2 on a green and white coyote. got a crp load of huge prawns on the way back in, now im really hooked!

Good on ya! now I need someone tyo teach me how to fish Porlier Pass- ton of boats out there today, but no action I could discerne--was approached at the dock by young man taking a survey at the Ladysmith boat launch and he said everyone he had interviewed came up empty- his other questions were trolling? or jigging? how long spent doing each--should have asked him who he was working for????

Congrats on the prawns. How big were they? I have been limiting out on crabs and doing quite well on salmon but the prawns have tapered off with only small ones showing.
