I just got some material together and I'm gonig to learn to tie flies, I was just wondering which ones catch trout / perch / bass / etc around the Victoria lakes?

I want to target each specifically. Yes I know perch will bite a nickle if it's on a hook. Right now I'm more interested in the tying than the catching. :)

Thanks

If I had to choose just one fly to fish local lakes, without a question a wooly bugger. Trout, bass, salmon it catches em all.

You can't go wrong with a tom thumb and they are easy to tie. My son taught himself, all you need are some hooks, deer hair and thread.
