I'm sure a lot of guys already do this, but I know many fishermen who have never tried it. A few years ago, I started adding 4 inch pieces of wire to all of my teaser heads. I find that it make it much easier to consistently achieve the roll I'm looking for. Even when your bait softens up, the roll stays consistent.
How-To
1). Buy some stainless wire that has some flexibility, but that isn't too soft. 2). Cut a piece of wire and proceed to heat up the end with a lighter. 3). Once hot, use the heated wire to poke 2 holes through the long side of your teaser head. The holes should be 1-2cm apart. 4). Feed a piece of wire through the 2 holes, and then adjust so that the wire is secure. Make sure that the wire runs on the inside of the teaser head. 5). Trim the to desired length.
When rigging your bait, insert the wire under the skin beginning at the opening behind the gill plate. Try not to let the wire poke through the skin.
